Updated information concerning lead service lines:

Step 1: Check our new interactive map to see if you have been noted as having a lead service line. https://ferndale.maps.arcgis.com/.../Inform.../index.html...

Step 2: If you are marked as N/A, please contact us through the online form to verify your materials https://ferndalemi.seamlessdocs.com/.../WaterServiceLineD...

Step 3: There are a limited number of FREE water tests available from the Michigan Dept of Health & Human Services. Please contact them at 844-934-1315 to schedule a water test. This is the gold standard of testing and will be able to determine if lead is present, even in low amounts.

Step 4: Please consider getting a water filter. They are being distributed until 6pm at Kulick, but our DPW will have them after that. If you don't get the ones we have available, look for filters that are NSF 53 certified to reduce lead.

Step 5: Familiarize yourself with additional steps, like flushing your water for 5 minutes before use after it has sat overnight. Clean your aerator regularly (which you should be doing anyway, they get gross).
